Our story

Mis Raíces was born where two islands meet. Eddie is from Cuba; Ana is from Puerto Rico. When they built a family, they brought their two kitchens together too — the lechón and ropa vieja of the Cuban table, the mofongo and pastelón of the Puerto Rican one. That is where the name comes from — Mis Raíces, "My Roots" — and the logo: a bird with one Cuban wing and one Puerto Rican wing over a flamboyán tree, because as the poet Lola Rodríguez de Tió wrote, "Cuba and Puerto Rico are two wings of the same bird."

At their restaurant in Teaneck every dish is made from scratch, with family recipes and the same care you would cook with at home. Neighbors come back again and again for that flavor — pernil that tastes like abuela's, mofongo mashed to order — and for a place that feels like family.
